Food Web
In a marine ecosystem, the food web would look something like the picture above. The primary producers would be plants and animals such as algae, kelp, and plankton. The primary consumers would be animals like birds, fish, and squid. The secondary consumers would be the seals and whales. The tertiary consumers would be humans. Detritivores in the ocean would be bacteria and fungi. Sunlight would be the energy source for all the animals.
In an event of an oil spill like the Taylor Wells spill, a whole entire ecosystem would be destroyed. The producers would died and being the foundation, the rest of the ecosystem would crumble, killing the majority of animals.
